The much-celebrated IAS couple Tina Dabi and Athar Khan have reportedly filed for divorce through mutual consent in Jaipur’s family court. While Tina topped IAS examinations in 2015 with the first rank, Athar, who hails from Rajasthan, was just behind with the second rank. The couple met during the Civil Services training period and fell in love with each other. Their photoshoots at various places went viral after their marriage in 2018.

Tina and Athar have been serving under the Rajasthan cadre and currently posted in Jaipur. The rumor mills were abuzz recently with Tina removing Khan from the surname on her social media handles. Unlike other IAS officers.

Tina was active on social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Interestingly, Athar also unfollowed her on Instagram. Tina is currently serving as EO Zila Parishad Sriganganagar.

Athar Khan has applied for deputation to his home state Jammu and Kashmir and the file is pending before the home ministry. His mandatory 5-year experience to go on the deputation ends in December and he is likely to move to his home state by January 2021. There are reports that the relationship between the couples were strained and they had applied for separate residence under Rajasthan Housing Board scheme for IAS officers.

The marriage between Tina and Athar was celebrated by social media and even political leaders like Rahul Gandhi congratulated the couples for tying the knot. Rahul tweeted that their marriage is a symbol despite alleged intolerance in the country. However, Rahul was aggressively trolled on social media with the picture of his tweet immediately after the divorce news went viral. It is to be noted that both their marriage and divorce went viral on social media. To recall, Hindu Mahasabha had termed the marriage between tina and Athar as Love Jihad. However, there is no substantial proof to verify this claim. We can only wish them happiness post-divorce.
