Pandian Stores resumes shooting without Mullai Chithra

After the untimely demise of VJ Chithra, Vijay TV has resumed shooting of the popular soap opera Pandian Stores without Mullai. The entire crew, which includes Kumaran, Stalin, Sujitha, and Shanthi Williams was seen heartbroken during a short prayer held at the sets of the Pandian Stores. Many people are yet to realize that their favourite character Mullai was not with them. It is to be noted that VJ Chithra haad passed away in Chennai on December 9 by committing suicide.

Accoring to the crew, the Pandian Stores is a show and it must conntinue despite obstacles. The crew displayed a framed photo of VJ Chithra as Mullai that was garlanded with the words We Miss You. When Actress Sujitha read out a poem she had written, the crew members were seen crying in memory of her loved actress.

There are reports that the Pandian Stores producers are in double mind over the continuation of the Mullai character. This is because the edntrie crew and otherr actress are unable to digest a replacement for Mullai. It is not sure whether other actresses will give consent to act as Mullai if given a chance.

The makers have revealed that Chithra’s close friend Sharanya Turedi has tipped to replace Chithra as Mullai in the upcoming episodes of Pandian Stores. That said, you can expect to see Chithra again in Pandian Stores for few more episodes since they are already shot and completed. You should note that VJ Chithra had acted in Pandian Stores even on the day of her death.

To recall, Chithra had committed suicide after returning to her hotel room after the completion of the shoot. Her fiance Hemanth was also living with Chithra. According to Hemanth, Chithra had asked him to leave the room since she wants to bath. Hemanth alerted hotel staff since she didn’t respond even after one hour.

The hotel staff came with a duplicate key and she was seen hanging. The hotel staff alerted the police and they sent the body for post mortem. The initial report reveals no struggle marks and experts have concluded that it’s the case of suicide. However, Chithra’s family members and friends have ruled out any suicide theory and demanded complete investigation.

Malaikottai Vaaliban was released on January 25, 2024, amidst huge expectations. Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, Malaikottai Vaaliban has entered its third week without much celebration among fans. According to reports, the Malaikottai Vaaliban OTT is expected to hit Disney+ Hotstar by the first week of March.

The company has acquired streaming rights for the film. Even though the films are released on OTT platforms after fourth week, there are indications that Malaikottai Vaaliban OTT will have an early release. There is a possibility that the film could hit OTT by the end of February 2024.

In addition to Mohanlal, Malaikottai Vaaliban features Sonali Kulkarni, Danish Sait, Manoj Moses, Katha Nandi, Manikandan R. Achari, and much more. The story revolves around the journey to various places and conducts battles with wrestlers. The movie comprises brilliant visual effects but the story was not as per the expectations of the people.

The film failed to make any major impact at the box office. The trackers have reported that Malaikottai Vaaliban has minted Rs 26 crore worldwide, which is less than the overall investment. Mohanlal had announced the release of a comic book. We don’t know in which marketplace the book will be up for sale.

On the work front, Mohanlal’s Malaikottai Vaaliban is running in theatres with mixed response. The film hasn’t pulled viewers to the film theatres. Even though Mohanlal is a crowd-puller, Malaikottai Vaaliban failed to impress the audience due to some reasons. We expect the film to hit the OTT platform by the end of February.
